Proposal

EIA Screening Opinion under the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017 for a new non-motorised shared use path (also referred to as a Greenway) for use by cyclists, pedestrians and where possible horse-riders, linking Sawston to Cambridge city centre, via the villages of Great Shelford and Stapleford. From north to south, the Greenway would begin in Cambridge at the intersection between Long Road (A1134) and Robinson Way on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), extending along Robinson Way and then following Francis Crick Avenue south to join the Genome Path. The route would then follow the Genome Path until linking into the village of Great Shelford at Charston Road and passing behind Shelford train station. Exiting Great Shelford, the route goes south-east through Stapleford village connecting to London Road (A1301).

Check Public Commenting Instructions

1

Find the application on the council portal

Use the available source or council register link above. A register fallback may require you to search for the application reference.

2

Check whether public comments are accepted

Application types and public commenting eligibility vary. Follow the council's published instructions, including any registration and personal-information requirements.

3

Write a material planning consideration

Comments must relate to planning matters — e.g. impact on neighbours, traffic, parking, design, or the local area. Personal objections (e.g. "I don't like the owner") are not considered. Be specific and factual.

4

Submit before the consultation deadline

Use the published public consultation deadline on the official record. Do not calculate it from the received date or substitute a statutory-consultee date. Ask the council if the deadline or eligibility is unclear.

💡 Tip: A recorded undecided status does not mean comments are accepted. Check the council's current record and meeting rules before taking part.

Data Sources & Attribution

PlanningData.gov.uk ↗Dataset-specific rights

Government planning data platform. Reuse conditions depend on the dataset and originating source; check the licence and attribution for the record you use.

PlanIt.org.uk ↗Rights review

Planning applications aggregator. A provider's catalogue does not establish Planning Alerts coverage or freshness. Source-specific reuse terms require review.

Planning application information accessed from council portals. Individual councils and portal providers may have separate reuse terms.

Portal technology and public availability do not themselves establish a commercial reuse licence. Planning Alerts links to the originating source and applies source-specific rights controls. Coverage and successful-check dates vary by source. Council plans and documents remain subject to their publishers' terms; a public link does not grant reuse permission.
