T1: 7 Beech trees: Reduce the longest overhanging lateral branches by up to 4 metres across seven trees situated along approximately 34 metres of the woodland edge, adjacent to the carport and vehicle parking area. The reduction should be progressively tapered, decreasing to no reduction where branches become naturally shorter higher within the crowns, to maintain an appropriate and balanced canopy profile. The reduction measurement will be reducing a canopy width overhang from 10 metres to 6 metres. The trees are growing along the woodland edge and have developed extended lateral branches towards available light, resulting in particularly long and heavily extended limbs in places. The client has previously experienced significant canopy failures associated with squirrel damage and the loading of these extended branches, resulting in damage to a vehicle and external structures. The proposed works are intended to reduce end-weight and the likelihood of further branch or canopy failure o

4 Burfield Drive, Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9JS
T1) False Acacia - Fell to ground level and replant same species within 3 metres of T1 (size: standard). Tree has substantial bark necrosis on the main stem from ground level, up to crown break. Crown has been monitored for 2 years and the dieback of crown is becoming more extensive. Poor condition overall. High usage area directly beneath tree. Crown reduction works would be preferable, however, the tree is already struggling and removal of live growth would further reduce the tree's remaining photosynthetic capacity and stored energy reserves. The recommended course of action is therefore to remove the existing tree rather than undertake crown reduction, particularly where retention cannot be justified on the basis of the tree's current condition and limited SULE (Safe Useful Life Expectancy)
19 Alexander Crescent, Caterham, Surrey, CR3 5ZG
T1) Callery Pear - Fell to ground level and replant same species within 3 metres of T1 (size: standard). Tree has been planted within the narrow shrub border situated between the front gardens of Nos. 19 and 20 Alexander Crescent. As the tree has matured, its root growth has begun to cause visible damage to the paving on both sides of the shrub border. In addition, the tree is causing excessive shading to the front windows of both properties, significantly reducing light ingress. Given that the tree has been planted in a restricted location where its continued growth is causing damage to surrounding features and adversely affecting natural light to the properties, its removal is recommended. It is further recommended that a replacement tree be replanted within the lawn area to the front of No. 19 Alexander Crescent, of the same species and a standard-sized specimen. This location would provide the tree with more suitable growing conditions while reducing the risk of damage to surroundi
